Scope and contact

This policy explains how the Seript operator handles information in the Seript writing app and its information website. You can contact us at seript.web@gmail.com. This policy applies to the current public release, which has not started serving ads or offering paid purchases.

Works and local storage

Text, characters, images, notes, editing history, settings, imported works, downloaded themes and fonts, and similar data are stored on your device. The Web version mainly uses IndexedDB, localStorage, and the browser cache to save data, restore settings, and support offline use. The current public release does not provide a feature that sends your manuscripts to a work-storage server operated by us during ordinary writing. The version of the terms you agreed to, the time of your agreement, and the display language are also recorded on your device.

You can manage local data using the app's deletion and data-management features or by deleting site data in your browser. Deleting browser data may also delete your works. Exported files and copies stored in the cloud may remain separately after you delete data from your device.

Optional cloud sync and sharing

If you set up cloud sync, the app exchanges works, images, and records needed for syncing with the cloud service you choose. Account identifiers and authentication information are used to verify the connection and sync data. Availability depends on the version you use and its configuration. Providers such as Google Drive and OneDrive handle information under their own policies.

You choose when to export or share work files. Recipients can view and save the contents of shared files, so check both the confirmation screen and the files themselves before sharing. Disconnecting sync does not necessarily delete all data stored in the cloud.

Website delivery and external connections

The public Web app and information website are delivered through Cloudflare Pages. When you request pages, themes, or similar resources, communication information such as your IP address, browser information, and requested resource is sent to the delivery provider. The provider may process this information for delivery, security, and service operation.

The current public release does not put manuscript text in access URLs or send it for analytics. If you open an external link, the destination's policies apply.

Contacting us

When you contact us by form or email, we receive your message, any reply email address and device details you provide, and any email attachments. We use this information to reply, investigate issues, and handle requests. We keep it for as long as needed to handle the inquiry and maintain necessary records, then delete information that is no longer needed. Contact us to request deletion or information about the data we hold. We handle requests subject to identity checks and applicable law.

Form responses are managed in Google Forms and Google Sheets, and emails are received through Gmail. These service providers process information as part of providing their services. A reply email address is optional; the form does not automatically collect your Google Account email address as a response. Do not send passwords, authentication codes, or unpublished manuscripts that are not needed.

Current status of ads, purchases, and analytics

The current public release does not enable AdSense ad scripts, Google Analytics tracking scripts, or sign-in and payment connections for paid purchases. Before introducing ads in the Web version, we will explain the provider, information collected, use of cookies and similar technologies, available choices, and any required consent process in line with the actual configuration. Publishing this policy does not, by itself, constitute consent to advertising.

Information management and changes

We handle the information we receive only to the extent necessary for its stated purposes and apply measures such as access controls. Except where required by law or otherwise legally permitted, we do not provide personal information we hold to third parties without the individual's consent. The processing by delivery, email, and other providers described above takes place separately.

If our practices change, we will update this policy and its revision date. We will announce material changes on the website or in the app. Where law or service rules require additional consent, we will obtain it separately.
